The punk rock group NOFX formed in Los Angeles in 1984 and released a string of self-released 7-inch singles over the next few years, eventually making their national debut in 1987 with the EP, PMRC Can Suck on This. Following the release of their 1989 full-length debut, S&M Airlines, on Bad Religion's Epitaph Records, the group's lineup settled on vocalist/bassist "Fat Mike" Burkett, guitarist Eric Melvin, guitarist/trumpet player Aaron "El Hefe" Abeyta, and drummer Erik "Ghint" Sandin.
